Envise, a building systems integrator uniting building automation, mechanical service, and analytics recently hosted The Greatest Gatsby, a roaring 20s inspired fundraising event designed to highlight how the American Cancer Society (ACS) is making great strides towards the fight against cancer. Held on September 19th, the event was attended by about 200 guests and raised $110,000.
“After brainstorming what we could do to give back, the Envise team agreed that the American Cancer Society was a worthy cause to support,” stated Southern California Branch Manager and Vice President, Payman Farrokhyar.
Exceeding its initial fundraising goal of $100,000, the event featured a champagne greet, three-course dinner, casino night, silent and live auctions, entertainment, and dancing. Attendees were also able to learn more about various ACS programs, including research, education, and emotional support available to cancer patients and loved ones.
“Envise has built its reputation around people and relationships. Instead of a traditional golf tournament or gala, we decided a party would highlight the organization’s personality, as well as offer our team and the local community a chance to support the ACS,” Farrokhyar continued.
In addition to hosting the Greatest Gatsby, Envise is an active partner in the ACS. Farrokhyar, who has been involved with the ACS in various capacities, recently joined the Orange County ACS Regional Council. Additionally, he was nominated as a member of its newly launched 2016 Real Men Wear Pink campaign. Farrokhyar will be one of 12 men making up the inaugural team serving as ACS ambassadors in the Southern California region. The team will be fundraising, as well as bringing the male perspective in support for breast cancer.
“Our community can make a huge impact in the fight against breast cancer,” said Maya Alostaz, Making Strides Against Breast Cancer event manager. “We are grateful to Real Man ambassador Payman Farrokhyar and Envise for lending their voices and efforts to our cause and fighting for everyone affected by breast cancer.”
